This comment on their Facebook page really stood out to me and compelled me to reach out to them.
“Our rings are made from conflict free materials. We don’t support inhumanely mined diamonds, which is why we use high quality diamond simulants. Diamond simulants are man-made stones (AAA grade cz) that looks just like a perfect diamond and shine like crazy.”

Since my husband and I began talking about marriage, he’s always felt strongly against inhumane diamond mining and the effect it has on the environment. This educated me on the topic and have been supportive of alternative engagement rings since. There are many rings out there that are alternative but they are still overpriced.
I was really impressed to see the prices of their products when I visited their website. The bridal sets (engagement ring with a matching wedding band) are to die for and are absolutely stunning! I have my eyes on the rose gold The Bliss ring. I was skeptical, so I looked at the reviews and I was impressed to find really positive feedback.

I have yet to receive the ring I ordered from them. Once I get it I will give you an honest review. Expect a video review soon!
Why am I excited about this?
Did you know that millennials are causing a major shift in the diamond industry? Millennials are not as interested in buying diamonds as baby boomers were. They are considering marriage and finance in a very different way. With more women becoming career-driven and financially independent, the need to marry has shifted from need to want. There’s less pressure in marrying to be dependent on a man who can promise stability and more on making sure compatibility is high. It’s exciting for three reasons:
1. Hopefully less divorce
With the requirements of marriage nowadays changing, I am hoping for a lower divorce rate in the future. More people are taking the time to really find the best person for them, taking marriage seriously and not seeing it as just another step to take in life.
2. Better for the environment
Lab-created alternatives are way better for the environment and it looks just as beautiful.
Pit-mining is the most common way to get diamonds. Diamond mining causes ecological devastation like soil erosion, deforestation, rerouting of rivers, creating dams and affecting wildlife. It also puts a toll on the communities around it. The inhumane labor for diamond recovery and the health disasters caused by mining are just a few problems to mention. It’s called blood diamonds for a reason. Read about how diamonds are mined here.
3. Supply and demand
If we keep going at this rate, the diamond industry will have to focus their efforts in being more responsible in mining their diamonds or invest in lab-created gems more. Millennials are becoming the main target market for this industry, so know that you have more power than you think. Your decisions will greatly affect how this industry operates and I think that’s a win for us all. Keep them accountable. It makes me really happy to see more start-up companies are popping up to cater to this blooming financially conscious, eco-ethical society. This is forcing existing jewelers to up their game and bring something better to the table.
In a survey of 1,000 consumers aged between 21 and 40, half of which had household incomes of $50,000 or higher, nearly 70% said they would consider buying lab-grown diamonds, according to MVI Marketing. This was a 13 percentage-point increase from the year before, when 57% said the same, Forbes reported.

Real diamonds are beautiful and I understand why there’s still a demand for them. I am not here to judge but to educate. Like I said, many companies are becoming more aware of this issue and are making sure they’re only dealing with responsible miners. Just make sure you know how they acquire their stones.
Conclusion
I truly believe that love shouldn’t have a price tag. Not having thousands of dollars to spend on a ring shouldn’t stop you from getting married or engaged. You shouldn’t start your life together in debt over it either.
